Services for Bessie Irene Kirk, 78, Osceola, who died Dec. 18, at Osceola Leisure Manor were held Dec. 22 at the Church of Christ at Murray with Pastor Marty Burgus officiating. Burial was at the Union Cemetery.
Born Jan. 27, 1908 at Ellston, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles and Blanche Parker Shaw. She was married in 1923 to Clarence W. Moore and the couple had three children. She was married to Clayton Kirk in 1932 and they also had three children.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Venus chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star at Lorimor. She had lived in Lorimor, Murray, Peru and Truro and had spent the past year in the nursing home. She was a member of the Madison Chapel Church.
Survivors include her husband, Clayton of Osceola; sons, Charles Moore and wife Georgia of Truro, Robert Moore and wife Betty of Pueblo, Colo., Sherrow Kirk and wife Carolyn of Rio, Ill., and Frank Kirk and wife Shirley of New Virginia; a daughter, Darlene Jacobe and husband Edward of Des Moines; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Marie Wake of Thayer and Helen Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, three grandsons, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
