Winterset, Iowa - Services for Leona Kirby, 81, of Winterset, who died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Collins Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Kirby was born in Dallas County and lived in Winterset most of her life. She was a retired cook.

Survivors include two sons, Lyle Fish and Eldon Hunt, both of Winterset; two sisters, Lucile Bartmess and Pauline Clark, both of Winterset; nine grand children; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home.

Maude Leona Kirby, Winterset

Services for Maude Leona Kirby, 81, Winterset, who died Aug. 7, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, were held Friday, Aug. 10 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was in Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Dallas County on March 26, 1903, she was the daughter of William and Phelena McGee Sumpter. A retired cook, she had worked at the Knotty Pine, Club Cafe and Grace's for a number of years.

She married Dale Kirby on Dec. 10, 1955 in Audubon County, but lived in the Winterset area most of her life. Mrs. Kirby was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her son, Lyle L. Fish and George Eldon Hunt, both of Winterset; sisters, Lucille Bartmess and Pauline Clark, both of Winterset; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and sister.
