Former Resident Killed by Automobile on Highway in California
The body of Frank Stump, former Winterset resident, who had lived in California for several years, was returned here for burial this week after he had been killed in a highway accident on the west coast.
Few details of the fatal accident were known here, but it was learned that Mr. Stump was hit by an automobile on the Napa-Vallejo highway in California. He was 58 years of age.
Mr. Stump was a native of Van Meter, but lived in Winterset many years, where he was engaged in the furniture repair business. Since going to California he had been employed at the Mare Island navy yard.
He is survived by a son and a daughter.
Funeral services were to be held from the Ramsey-Richards Funeral home this Wednesday afternoon, and burial was to be made in the Pleasant View cemetery.
