Lorraine E. Thrash, 86, died of a respiratory ailment Thursday, March 12, 1998, at Integrated Health Services in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 17, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Lorraine Edith Thrash was born Feb. 13, 1912, in Savanah, Ga., to Frank and Bertha McBride Laux. She married Rubin Brinson in Savannah, Ga. She was later married to Herbert Brooker and then Don Thrash. She operated Lorraine's Beauty Shop for 20 years in Nevada, Iowa. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 8142, past president of Local & 5th District V.F.W. Auxiliary and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Randy Siebels; and one great-grandson.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Brinson Parkins (husband Bill) and Dorothy L. Brinson Pettit (husband Sammie), both of Winterset, and Ann Brinson Smith of Altoona; one son-in-law, Frank Bakerink of Winterset; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
