Services for Gracie E. Jones, 91, a former Madison County resident who died Jan. 8 at the Ramsey Memorial Home in Des Moines of a heart ailment, were held Jan. 10 at the First Christian Church, Des Moines, with burial at Penn Center Cemetery near Earlham.

Born Oct. 9, 1881 in Madison County, she was the daughter of John and Mary Lowden. She was married on Aug. 26, 1914 to Joseph E. Jones and the couple lived on a farm near Pitzer for many years and were active members of the Early Chapel Church. She moved to Des Moines in 1956.

Survivors include three daughters, Mildred Jones, Mrs. Dan Lamb and Mrs. William Herker, all of Des Moines; a brother, Frank Lowden of Savanna, Ill.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
