MRS. ESTHER THOM And Son Drown In Pool

A former teacher in the Winterset schools and her 8-year-old son were drowned in California recently, according to word received here last week.

Victims were Mrs. Esther Thom and her son Billy of San Diego. Mrs. Thom is the former Esther Loeschen, who taught four years in the Winterset schools. Mrs. Thom drowned in a swimming pool in attempting to save her son.

Mrs. Thom is survived by two small daughters and her husband who is somewhere at sea with the U. S. Merchant Marines.
