Harlan W. Beerbower, a resident of Winterset the past 20 years, and a city marshall here the past few years, died at his home in Winterset June 23. He was 70 years of age.

Mr. Beerbower was a member of pioneer parents, Henry and Anna Beerbower, and he was born in Harlan county, Nebraska, on Sept. 13, 1873. As a baby he was brought to Sandyville, Iowa, and later to Patterson in this county, where he spent his early life. He was married to Etta McMichael on April 27, 1898. They were the parents of two children.

Mr. Beerbower had been a member of the Methodist church for 41 years. Prior to working as a peace officer here, he had been employed at the Winterset Monument company.

He is survived by his wife; two children, Orval E. Beerbower and Mrs. Edith Parkins, both of Winterset; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday from Anderson's Funeral home in charge of the Rev. W. P. Gordon, pastor of the Winterset United Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Mt. Pelier cemetery near Patterson.

H. W. BEERBOWER DIED HERE JUNE 23

Harlan W. Beerbower, 70, of Winterset died at his home here on Friday, June 23. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon June 25, at the Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. W. P. Gordon in charge. Interment was made in the Patterson cemetery.

Harlan Wesley Beerbower, son of pioneer parents, Henry and Anna Beerbower, was born September 13, 1873, in Harlan county, Nebraska. He moved as an infant to Sandyville, Iowa, and later to Patterson where he grew to manhood.

He was united in marriage to Etta McMichael on April 27, 1898, and to them were born two children.

Mr. Beerbower has resided in Winterset for the past twenty years, and was employed at the Winterset Monument factory for several years. He has been a city Marshal the past few years. He was a member of the Methodist church for forty-one years.

He is survived by his wife, two children, Mrs. Edith Parkins of near Winterset and Orval E. Beerbower of Winterset; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
