Millicent L. Huff, Earlham

Millicent Lafern Huff, 76, of Earlham died from complications of a stroke July 1, 2000, at Des Moines General Hospital.

Memorial services were held Monday July 3, at Ruppert Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with the Rev. Eldon Cole officiating. Inurnment of the cremains was at South Oak Grove Cemetery, Stuart.

Millicent Huff was born Feb. 20, 1924, in Adair County to Perl and Fern (Peer) James. She attended country schools and later Menlo High School. She married Robert Dean Huff on Oct. 9, 1944 in Pueblo, Colo. She had worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, the Stuart Skating Rink and Barringer Clothing Store. At one time, Millicent also had a dog grooming business.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, a brother, a niece and a nephew.

She is survived by a daughter, Janiece Rater (husband Bill) of Earlham; a son, Dr. Randall Huff (wife Elizabeth) of Radcliffe; a brother, Leland James (wife Eva) of Greenfield; special friend, Delbert Holloway; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ruppert Funeral Home in Stuart.
