Winnifred Waive McKibben, 87, died Dec. 15, 2004, at the Unlimited Care in Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with the Rev. Charlie Thompson officiating. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.

Waive McKibben was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Oakside, Mo., to James and Zola (Butner) Cron. She attended Winterset schools. She and Nile McKibben were married in the 1930s. They resided in the Earlham area and farmed for a few years before moving to Des Moines and later back to DeSoto. Waive worked for Banker’s Life in Des Moines as a policy administrator, retiring in 1979 following 20 years of service. After her husband’s death in 1980, she resided in California, Texas, Arkansas and Tulsa, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Allan Cron.

She is survived by two sons, Darrell McKibben of Tulsa, Okla., and Darwin McKibben of Rogers, Ark.; two sisters, Helen Gordon of Farmington, N.M., and Juanita Harrison of Phoenix, Ariz.; six brothers, James Cron of California, Larry Cron of Savannah, Ga., Merle Cron of Des Moines and Fletcher Cron, Marion Cron and Jerry Cron, all of DeSoto; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
