Funeral services for Alvena Pauline Van Sickle, 67, were held April 3 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. William Hines of Des Moines officiating. Mrs. Van Sickle died March 31, 1993, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Burial was at Tingley Cemetery in Tingley.

She was born in Beaconsfield on March 18, 1926, to Earl and Mabel Clymer. She married O. G. Van Sickle July 8, 1946, in Mt. Ayr. She had worked for Vernon Company in Maytag at Newton, and Snowden's at Osceola. She was a member of Truro Methodist Church in Truro.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Raymond and Donald; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include her husband; one daughter, Patricia Van Sickle of Truro; one sister, Audrey Ross of Casper, Wyo.; four brothers, Phillip of Midwest, Wyo. Willard of Ada, Okla., Arvid of Tingley, and Kenneth of Des Moines; and one granddaughter, Bobbi Kneuper of Truro.
