Mrs. John Huston who suffered a paralytic stroke at her farm home eleven miles north of town Tuesday morning of last week, died at the Murdo hospital shortly before midnight on Sunday. The stroke was very severe and involved her entire right side. On Wednesday she rallied for a short time and recognized those about her, all of which gave rise to hope that she might gradually recover. But these hopes were dispelled the following day, when her condition became worse, and she continued in an unconscious condition until she passed away.

In the death of Mrs. Huston we fully realize our loss. She was a true friend, and her devotion to those she loved would make a bright chapter in any life. While she has gone from the scenes, the conflicts, the sorrows and pleasures of life, she will still live in the hearts of those who knew her best. She lived among us for a quarter of a century and was always interested in the things that were for the betterment of the community. She affiliated with the Methodist church in Kennebeo and took an active part in the work of the Sunday School and the Ladies Aid. With her time she was very generous and never shirked from what she deemed her duty.

Hannah Opha Terry was born at Winterset, Iowa, August 31, 1887, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson T. Terry, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to John Huston at Winterset, March 3, 1907, and for a time lived on a farm near Earlham.

To this union eight children were born. One died in infancy. Robert died in 1922 and Florence in 1944. Those surviving are Mrs. Sadie Walters, Jefferson, South Dakota; Roscoe Huston and Mrs. Myrna Johnson, Kennebec; Raymond Huston, Rapid City and Clarence Huston, Phoneton, Ohio. Other survivors beside the children are her husband, two brothers, A. E. Terry of Dakota City, Nebraska; G. C. Terry of Des Moines; and one sister, Mrs. Mary F. Lotz, of Winterset; and six grandchildren.

The Huston family moved to Kennebec, in the spring of 1920 and have lived in this vicinity ever since. At the age of 15 years she joined the Early Chapel Christian church, but during her residence here she attended the Kennebec Methodist church.

The remains taken to Earlham, where final services were held Friday conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis at the Church of Christ and interment was made in the family lot in the cemetery in Earlham.
