Death Of MARIE FOX

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m. for Marie Ella Gillespie Fox of rural Winterset. She died Sunday, March 7, 1976 at Des Moines General Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 67.

A resident of Madison County for 40 years, Mrs. Fox was born September 21, 1908 in Grand River township of Madison County, the daughter of George Gillespie and Julia Reinmuth Gillespie. She was married to Fred Fox on May 26, 1928 in Madison County.

A housewife, Mrs. Fox was affiliated with the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Fox, and two sons, Freddie Lynn Fox of Woodburn, Iowa and George Allen Fox of Des Moines and one daughter, Georgia Ellen Campbell of Cumming, Iowa.

Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and a brother, Lyle L. Gillespie of Knoxville, Iowa and a sister, Esther Combs of Greenfield, Iowa.

Mrs. Fox was preceded in death by her parents, four infant sons, one brother and four grandchildren.

Rev. Lloyd Huffey of Des Moines presided over the funeral services from Collins Funeral Home. Burial was made at the Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, Iowa.
