OBITUARY: Chestina Whetstone Died Last Sunday, Life-Long Resident Was 84 Years of Age; Former School Teacher

Chestina Whetstone, a life-long resident of Madison county and Winterset, died Sunday at the Clarinda hospital She was 84 years of age.

Mrs. Whetstone was born in Douglas township on Aug. 4, 1861, the daughter of Asa W. and Mary Evans. She attended the Winterset high school and for a number of years taught school in Madison and Guthrie counties. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the Rebekah lodge of Winterset.

She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Ella Klingman, and a nephew John Klingman, both of Winterset. Funeral services were held from the Winterset Church of Christ this Wednesday, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Tom Foglesong. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
