Had Spent Most of Her 91 Years on Same Farm in Jackson Township
Lucinda K. Henry, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Sunday, March 24, at her home south of Earlham. She was 91 years of age.
Miss Henry was born in Lee township, June 13, 1871, a daughter of Emanuel and Malinda Henry. In 1872 the family moved to the farm south of Earlham, and there she made her home for 90 years until her death. She attended school in Jackson township and had been a member of the Early Chapel Christian church since 1893.
During her long life she lived on the home place, with her brother, John Henry. She also cared for her mother, until the latter's death in 1933.
Surviving are three brothers, Charles W. Henry and Ben S. Henry of Winterset; and John P. Henry of Jackson township. She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Evans Funeral home in Earlham, conducted by Denton Roberts. Burial was made in Worthington cemetery.

Thursday, March 28, 1963Lucinda Catherine Henry, daughter of Emanuel and Malinda Henry, was born on June 13, 1871, in Lee township and passed away in her sleep on March 24, 1963 at her home at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 11 days.
In 1872 she moved with her parents to their farm home south of Earlham where she dwelt for 90 years until her death. She attended school in Jackson township and was united by baptism with Early Chapel Christian church on February 10, 1893 where she worshiped regularly during her active years.
In recent years she has been restricted to her small home on the farm where she has enjoyed most the simple things of life; her orchard and canning, her flowers, and religious services provided her by her radio. Lucinda’s life was spent on her farm where she cared for her property and herself with only slight assistance in recent years from her nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Henry. She also cared for her parents during their latter years until the death of her mother in 1933.
Her life was a life of simplicity; dwelling near unto the land and caring for what God had provided for her.
Lucinda Henry was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by three brothers: Charles W. Henry and Ben S. Henry of Winterset, and John F. Henry of the home. She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Evans Funeral Home in Earlham Tuesday, March 26, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Denton Roberts conducted the services. Donna French was soloist, accompanied at the organ by Gertrude Conrad. Anna and Lenore Brown were in charge of the flowers.
Casket bearers were Ernest Brown, Lester Piatt, John E. Brown, Curtis Allen, Ray Leach and Cecil Clark. Interment was in the Worthington cemetery near Earlham.
