1969JOHN HAYNES, 90, DIED FEB. 14
John William Haynes, son of George and Mary Haynes, was born Oct. 4, 1878 on a farm near St. Charles and died at his home at 3832 Oxford Ave. in Des Moines on Feb. 14 at the age of 90.
He was the youngest member of a family of 14 children and spent his life in farming near St. Charles, until ill health forced him to retire three years ago.
On May 29, 1909 he was married to Dora Franzen and they would have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary this year.
He is survived by his wife, Dora, and two daughters, Leona Palmer and Mrs. Paris Harmon. Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
