Death of Marion Cox

James Marion Cox, the two and a half year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Cox, died early last Thursday morning, after a short illness with pneumonia. The little fellow had taken the whooping cough, and pneumonia developed, causing his death.

The boy was born at Highgate, Missouri, August 9, 1928. The following year, the family returned to Winterset, where they have since resided.

He leaves besides his parents, one sister, Lenore, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Cox, of Winterset, and Mr. and Mrs. James Satterfield, Highgate, Missouri.

The Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted his funeral services, Friday afternoon, at 2 o’clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

JAMES MARION COX

James Marion, son of Boyd and Bessie Cox, was born at Highgate, Missouri, August 9th, 1928. A year later the family returned to Winterset which has since been their home.

Little Marion was a sweet and loveable child – with his blonde curly head and his rosebud smile. He was unusually bright and active, and so full of animation and of happy cunning ways.

He seemed healthy and well until he took the whooping cough which was followed by pneumonia and he passed from this life March 26, 1931, at the age of two years, seven months and 17 days.

He leaves besides his parents, one sister, Lenore; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Cox of Winterset, and Mr. and Mrs. James Satterfield of Highgate, Missouri.
