CHARLES GROUT DIED SATURDAY

Life-Long Resident of County Was 76 Years of Age

Charles H. Grout, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Saturday, May 11, at his farm home south of Winterset. He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Grout was born in Madison county June 21, 1891, a son of Edwin A. and Ida Belle Cooper Grout. His life was spent in farming. He was a member of the Ord New Hope Christian Union church.

He was married Feb. 1, 1917 to Mary D. Seiler, who survives him. He also leaves five children, Mrs. Dale Schirm of Murray, Utah, Mrs. Floyd Estell of Denver, Colo., Claude Grout of Winterset, Loren Grout of Lorimor, and Mrs. Robert Mount of Des Moines. He also leaves 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and three sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Cram of Winterset, Mrs. Lenna Waltz of Des Moines, and Mrs. Mary Eckstein of Macksburg.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Henry Harmon. Burial was to be made in the Clark cemetery.
