Services for Ruby Nelson, 73, Winterset, who died Mar. 11, 1983 at Lincoln, Neb., will be held Thursday, Mar. 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Jerry Zanker officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Greenfield Cemetery.
Born Feb. 8, 1910 at Greenfield, she was the daughter of Arnott and Stella Silverthorne Connell. She married Wendel Nelson May 31, 1933 at Fremont, Neb.
She and her husband owned the Gamble Store for 30 years and for 14 years she sold advertising for the Madisonian. She was a member of the Progressive Study Club, the Lakeview Country Club and was a former member of the Eastern Star and PTA.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Richard Nelson of Parker, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Connie) Kline of Lincoln, Neb.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother.
