Wallace Carl Grasty, Winterset

Graveside services for Wallace Carl Grasty, 81, Winterset, who died Nov. 13, at the Care Center North where he resided, were held Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Union Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Worsham officiating.

Born in Madison County on Jan. 15, 1903, he was the son of William and Judy Hamner Grasty. Mr. Grasty spent his lifetime in Madison County and was a retired worker at the Penn-Dixie rock quarry.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Bodwell of Westminister, Colo.; brothers, Everett of Des Moines and Ivan of Lodi, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Coordinator's note: As an adult, he changed his surname from "Graspy" to "Grasty".
