EUGENE WHEELER Dies At 42 Years

Eugene F. Wheeler, formerly of Madison county but a resident of Holly, Mich., the last 16 years, died at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1960. He had undergone major surgery there earlier that day.

Mr. Wheeler was 42 years of age. He was a son of James and Alma Porter Wheeler, and was born at Lorimor on Oct. 1, 1918. His early life was spent in Newton, and later in Madison county. He moved from here to Michigan 16 years ago, and had been employed by the Chrysler corporation at Highland Park, Mich.

He was married June 19, 1943, in Missouri, to Mildred Bedwell, who survives. He also leaves his mother, now Mrs. Alma Tratchel of Newton; his step-mother, Mrs. Jessie Wheeler of Winterset; three stepsons, Tom Bedwell of Oahu, Hawaii, Bervon Bedwell of Des Moines and John Bedwell of Santa Monica, Calif.; two step-daughters, Donna Bedwell of Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. Geraldine Thompson of Omaha; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd Wheeler of Des Moines and Lou O. Wheeler of Winterset; and three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Seamans of Beaufort, S.C., Mrs. Wayne Anderson of Winterst, and Betty Wheeler of California.

Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Anderson-Wilson funeral home, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. John Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church, will preside. Burial will be made in Broadlawn cemetery at Lehigh, with graveside services in charge of the Rev. Lester Heck of that community.

Attend Wheeler rites at Winterset

A large number of relatives were here last week, having been summoned by the death of Eugene Wheeler of Holly, Michigan, who had become seriously ill, while spending Christmas here with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne anderson and other relatives.

Those who were here to attend the services on Saturday afternoon at the Anderson Wilson funeral home were as follows: Berdena Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hill and son, and Bill Mortice of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, Tom Bedwell of Oahu, Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Demoss, Alma Tratchel, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tratchel and Earl Warff of Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Porter and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Peterson of Adel, Mrs. Larry Morrow and sisters of Deep River, Mrs. Hulus Palmer of Van Meter, Weaver Porter of Peru, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Carpenter and Bill Carpenter of Duncombe, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Jones of Rowen, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tjentland of Boone, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Anderson of Waterloo, Don Ulrich of Straford, Betty Hill of Eagle Grove, Donnie Ford of Dayton and Mr. and Mrs. Loren Rush of Kellerton,
