Mildred Sloan Gordon

Funeral services were held Monday, March 15, 1982 at Collins Funeral Home for Mildred Beatrice Gordon of rural Winterset, who died March 12 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 79 years old.

Born Aug. 14, 1902 in Blue Earth, Minn., she was the daughter of William and Ida Miller Sloan.

On April 1, 1918, she married Harold Gordon in Des Moines. Mr. Gordon died in 1973.

Mrs. Gordon was a homemaker and also worked as a cashier at United Food Store for several years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, Bill; a sister, Cecil Hughes; and an infant brother.

She is survived by a brother, Lyle Sloan of Marshalltown; two sisters, Thelma Burgess of Mason City and Belle Hubbard of Brush, Colo.; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Rev. Byron Ayers officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in Winterset Cemetery.
