Kathryn Elizabeth Kyner, 89, of Boulder, Colo., died March 18, 2006, at the Hospice-Care of Boulder and Broomfield Counties in Louisville, Colo.
A memorial service was held Friday, March 24, at Crist Mortuary in Boulder.
Kathryn Kyner was born July 11, 1916, in rural Madison County to James Ira and Mattie Eleanor (Cochran) Tucker. She was a 1934 graduate of Macksburg High School and a 1937 graduate of Simpson College in Indianola. Kathryn taught primary grades at several school districts in Iowa. On March 15, 1941, she married Max Kyner in Carrollton, Mo. In 1947, the family moved to Boulder, where she resided until her death. Kathryn also was a volunteer for the Boulder Community Hospital and maintained a membership in PEO for more than 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Dean Tucker; and two sisters, Helen Walter and Eleanor Wickstrand.
She is survived by two sons, James David Kyner of Thornton, Colo., and Charles Douglas Kyner of Longmont, Colo.; two sisters, Ruth Tucker of Winterset and Jean Greenwood of Des Moines; three brothers, Keith Tucker of Winterset, Max Tucker of Macksburg and Blaine Tucker of Branson, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
