EDWARD L. MELROY, Winterset

An 11:00 a.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset for Edward Melroy who died of cancer on Februaray 22, 1983 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Mr. Melroy had donated his body to Creighton University Medical College in Omaha, Nebraska.

Born in Union Township, Madison County, January 6, 1904. Mr. Melroy was engaged in farming, except for 15 years spent in the Davenport area working for Marycrest College, Bendix Corp., and Scott County highway maintenance. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 28 of Davenport, Iowa.

The second oldest of nine, his death was preceded by that of a sister, Mrs. George Anderson. Survivors include six brothers and one sister - Francis of Winterset; Thomas of Davenport; Sister Frances Marie of Humility of Mary, Davenport; James of Denver; Walter of San Francisco; John of Winterset; and Charles of Des Moines; 19 nieces and nephews, 54 grand nieces and nephews and 7 great grand nieces and nephews.
