Winterset Madisonian - February 28, 1990

Services for Lloyd F. Golightly, 85, Van Meter, who died February 25 at the Bethesda Care Center in Winterset where he resided, were held Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 28, at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Van Meter with the Rev. Thomas Krepps officiating. Burial was at the Trinity Church Cemetery.

Born in Jackson township in Madison County on March 24, 1904, he was the son of Sanford and Minnie Groth Golightly. A farmer, he was married to Hilda Marquardt on February 25, 1933 at Maryville, Mo.

Mr. Golightly was a resident of Van Meter for 50 years and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the church men's club and a former church trustee. He was past director of the Booneville Co-op and a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda; a daughter, Marjorie I. Fogler and husband Robert of Van Meter; a sister, Erma Stanley of Phoenix, Ariz; and a granddaughter, Janet Fogler of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
