Services for Fred B. Martens, 91, DeSoto, who died Friday, Oct. 30, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church near Van Meter. Burial was at the church cemetery.

Mr. Martens was born in Warren County and had lived in Madison County most of his life. He was a retired farmer and had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 403. He was a World War I veteran.

Survivors include a son, Frederick R. of Winterset; two daughters, Delores Harvey of Mukwonago, Wis., and Gloria Kraushaar of Fort Dodge; three brothers, Clarence, Irvin and Grant, all of Winterset; a sister, Esther Storck of Winterset; and eight grandchildren.
