Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Earlham Presbyterian church of Harry R. Frey of that community. The Rev. Delbert Welty, pastor of the church officiated, and the Masonic lodge assisted with the ritual. Burial was made in the Earham cemetery.
Mr. Frey's death occurred Monday, Jan. 30, at his home near Earlham, where he was a long-time resident. He was 69 years of age.
He was a native of Illinois, where he was born in Carlock on March 2, 1891, a son of Christian and Caroline Frey. He moved with his parents to Winterset in 1896.
On Feb. 20, 1913, he was married to Marcia M. Cook of Winterset. They moved to a farm south of Earlham which had been their home for 48 years.
He was a member of the Earlham Presbyterian church serving nine years as ruling elder. He was affiliated with the Masonic lodge, Easter Star and American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marcia Frey; two daughters, Mrs. Loyal Werts and Mrs. Earl Anker; a son, Harold Frey; 11 grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and a brother George Frey of Winterset.
