Former Winterset Resident Victim of Heart Attack at 42 Years.
Robert Bishop, most of whose life was spent in Winterset, died Easter Sunday, April 6, at his home in Springfield, Ill., of a heart attack. He was 42 years of age.
Mr. Bishop was born in Winterset Oct. 30, 1904, the son of Abe and Effie Bishop. He attended the Winterset schools, and as a young man worked for the Ramsey Funeral service here. He also learned the trade of baker here.
He was married in 1932 to Miss Gary Raber of Des Moines. They later moved to Des Moines, and three years ago moved to Springfield.
He is survived by his wife, and two children, Joan, aged 9, and Gene, aged 12. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Effie Bishop of Winterset, a sister, Mrs. Curtis Dowler of Decatur, Ill., a half-sister, Mrs. Jim Wesperman of Adrian, Mich. His father, Abe Bishop of Winterset preceded him in death, as did a small son, Bobby Lee, whose death occurred last June 18.
Funeral services were held this Wednesday at Springfield, and burial was made in that community.
