Stewart Waldo "Jake" Foley, 84, of Medora died Oct. 18, 2004 at his home. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct 22, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Pastor Jim Patrick officiating. Burial was at New Virginia Cemetery.
Jake Foley was born June 22 to Roy and Wilma (Young) Foley of Barney. He was a graduate of Peru High School. On May 17, 1941, he married Edwina Mae Kennedy in Grant City, Mo. Jake had resided on his farm in rural Medora for 63 years. In addition to farming, he worked for Warren County as a heavy equipment and road grader operator for 22 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Peru United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Foley and one grandson, Nathaniel Grant Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Edwina, of Medora; one son, Larry Foley of New Virginia; one daughter, Jane Martin of Indianola; two sisters, Thelma Thurman of Richardson, Texas, and Judy Atkinson of Atlanta, Ga.; and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the New Virginia Fire and Rescue.
