Herbert Charles Flint of Winterset died Sunday, Dec. 6 at Bethesda Care Center. He was 86 years old.
Born July 30, 1895 in Denmark, Ia., he was the son of Charles and Maude Hancock Flint.
He was a veteran, serving in the Army during W.W. I.
He was married twice. His first wife, Vera Belderback, is deceased. He married his second wife, Pearl May Lull in Grant City, Mo., on Oct. 20, 1941.
Mr. Flint was a farmer, retiring in 1961. He belonged to several organizations, including the American Legion and I.O.O. Lodge. He was also a past member of the Lion's Club, the first manager of the Multi-Purpose Center and organized the Golden Agers Club and 60 Plus.
Preceding him in death were his parents and first wife Vera. Survivors include his second wife, Pearl; three sons, Don of Winterset, Dave of Hampton and Dean of Council Bluffs; one daughter, Marion Dregseth of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Winifred Warner of Tucson; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 8 at First Baptist Church. Private services were held this morning at Collins Funeral Home.
Burial was at North McDonald Cemetery.
