Services for Carol Mary Fitzgerald, 44, of rural Earlham, who died of cancer Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, were held Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Adel. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was born in Wisconsin and lived in Des Moines before moving to Earlham in 1979. She was president of the Holy Trinity Rosary Society in Des Moines.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald; 10 children at home, Edward, Ian, Charles, Bridget, Molly, Padraic, Kate, James, Mary Jo and Peter; and a sister, Marilyn Marx of Annapolis, Md.

Carol Mary Fitzgerald, 44 of rural Earlham, passed away of cancer November 17 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, having been in ill health for three years.
Carol was born in Columbus, Wisconsin, December 18, 1938 and was educated at Marquette University. She was united in marriage to Gerald R. Fitzgerald in St. Joseph’s Church in East Bristol, Wisconsin on June 15, 1963. They came to Des Moines, Iowa in 1970 and then to rural Earlham in 1979, where she was living at the time of her death. While in Des Moines she served as president of the Holy Trinity Rosary Society.
Carol is survived by her husband, Gerald and ten children: Edward, Ian, Charles, Bridget, Molly, Padraic, Kate, James, Mary Jo and Peter; one sister, Marilyn Marx of Annapolis, Maryland.
A rosary service was held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Adel, Sunday, November 20. The funeral mass was held Monday at St. John’s with Father Thomas J. Pfeffer officiating. Music was provided by Mike Cooper, organist. Pallbearers were Bernie Irwin, Ron Coleman, Robert Hester, Jeff Murphy, Mark Welter and Jeff Heldenbrand. Interment was at Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
