Funeral services for Harley Gerald Fischer, 77, were held Mon., March 16 at Palmer and Sons Funeral Home, Rockwell City, with the Rev. E. Bradley Carloss officiating. Mr. Fischer died March 11 at his home.
A Winterset resident since 1945, he was born August 2, 1914 in Carnarvon, Iowa to Jacob and Gertrude (Sapp) Fischer. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart. He was a retired farmer and a former member of Winterset Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are a brother, Carl L. Fischer of Orange, Calif.; and two sisters, Juanita Welch of Macksburg and Anna Mills of Lake City, Iowa
Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
