Thursday, September 26, 2002Maurice W. Wilson, 69, Sunrise Beach, died Sept. 24, 2002, at his home.
He was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Adair County, Iowa, a son of John R. and Flossie Easter Wilson. He was married July 13, 1952, to Joan Crawford, who survives at the home.
A Navy veteran, he served more than 26 years before retiring. He was a member of United Christian Church, Winterset, Iowa. He was a member of American Legion Zack Wheat Post 624, Sunrise Beach, and Osage Community Elks Lodge, 2705, Laurie.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael Wilson, Wildwood, Fla., and Kevin Wilson, Winter Haven, Fla.; one daughter, Sheryl Murphy, Camdenton; one brother, Darrell Wilson, Springfield, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Fran Almquist and Patricia Benoit, both of Winterset; seven grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. Burial with military honors will be in Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery, Laurie. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday. Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia Association.

Maurice W. Wilson, 69, of Sunrise Beach, Mo., died Sept. 24, 2002, at his home.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 27, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie-Sunrise Beach Chapel in Laurie, Mo. Burial was at Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery in Laurie with military rites performed by American Legion Zach Wheat Post 624.
Maurice Wilson was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Adair County to John R. and Flossie (Easter) Wilson. He married Joan Crawford on July 13, 1952. Maurice was retired from the United States Navy following 26 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Zach Wheat Post 624 of Sunrise Beach, Mo., Osage Community Eks Lodge 2705 in Laurie, Mo., and the First Christian Church of Wintersest.
