Duff, John W. "Johnny," 79, retired Augusta and Chanute Public Works superintendent, died Tuesday, June 27, 1995. Service 2 p.m. Saturday, Zimmerman Funeral Home, Howard.

Survivors: wife, Phyllis; daughters, Janis Sinclair, Judy Lundy, both of Grenola; brother, Charley of Winterset, Iowa; sisters, Eulah Shearer of Des Moines, Dorothy Snores of Clarence, Mo., Gladys Kammin of Boone, Iowa, Carrie Harrell, Florence Walker, Laura Herman, all of Winterset; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one stepgrandchild.

Memorials have been established with the Kansas Eye Bank and Flint Hills Assembly of God, Howard.

John W. Duff, Grenola, Kan.

John Walter Duff, 79, of Grenola, Kan., died June 27, 1995 at his home. Funeral services were July 1, 1995 at the Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kan., with the Rev. Robin Haines officiating. Burial was in Howard, Kan.

He was born in Winterset, Nov. 21, 1915, to Frank B. and Leota (Reynolds) Duff. He attended Winterset schools before moving to Kan. to work. He married Phyllis Ann Thompson on May 13, 1946, in Grenola, Kan. He was the Public Works Superintendent in Chanute, Kan. before retiring and moving to Grenola, Kan. He was a coon hunter, member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; a sister and a grandson.

Surviving relatives include his wife; two daughters, Janis Sinclair and husband Don, Judy Lundy and husband Mike, all of Grenola, Kan.; a brother Charley Duff of Winterset; six sisters, Eulah Shearer of Des Moines, Dorothy Snores of Clarence, Miss., Gladys Kammin of Boone, Carrie Harrell, Florence Walker and Laura Herman, all of Winterset; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild and one great grandchild.

Memorials have been established with the Kansas Eye Bank and the Flint Hills Assembly of God Church in Howard, Kan.
