MARGARET DRISCOLL DIED HERE SUNDAY

Death Follows Period of Illness Dating Back to 1941

Mrs. Margaret Driscoll, well known Winterset resident for many years, died Sunday morning at the Madison county Memorial hospital after an extended period of failing health. She was 59 years of age.

Mrs. Driscoll was born in Lee township April 22, 1891, a daughter of W. C. and Sophie Smith. She was married to Carl Driscoll in 1911, and they lived on farms in this county until moving to Winterset in 1923. This community had been her home since that time.

Mrs. Driscoll's husband died Aug. 8, 1936. Her health failed in 1941, and she had been critically ill for extended intervals during the last several years. She was a patient for two months in the Mercy hospital in Des Moines before being removed to the hospital in Winterset several weeks ago.

She is survived by four children, Earl Driscoll of Winterset, Mrs. Kathryn Kellogg of Winterset, Cpl. John Driscoll of the U. S. Army and Charles Driscoll at home; a grandson, Richard Kellogg; and three brothers, W. C. Smith of Eldora, Joseph Smith of Earlham and A. C. Smith of Van Meter.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. J. J. Judge. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
