FORMER RESIDENT BURIED AT EARLHAM

Funeral services were held June 26 from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset for Edwin S. Davis of Alameda, Calif., whose death had occurred in California June 21.

Mr. Davis was a former resident of the Earlham community, but had moved to California in 1946. He was 66 years of age at his death.

He was born at Earlham Sept. 26, 1900, a son of William and Nora White Davis. He was married in 1948 to Lola DeBord, who survives him.

Mr. Davis was a carpenter by trade. He served in the U.S. armed forces during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three step-daughters, Mrs. Paul Brittain of Winterset, Mrs. Wayne Criss of California, and Mrs. Wade Coursey of California; a granddaughter reared in their home, Mrs. Sonia Wisner of California; nine other grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil and Frank Davis of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Harry Brown of Des Moines.

Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
