FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN DES MOINES

Mrs. Mary Van Hosen Daniel died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines July 15 of acute leukemia.

She was born in Winterset on Sept. 8, 1911, the daughter of Orval B. and Cora Clopton Van Hosen. She attended the Winterset schools and in later years often visited here. She received a degree from Drake university and at the time of her death was a librarian in the Des Moines public schools. She was s member of the Plymouth Congregational church in Des Moines, of Chapter HD P.E.O. and the Order of Eastern Star.

She leaves her husband Robert W. Daniel and two sons, Douglas and David. Other survivors include her sister Betty Gibson of Denver, Colo., and three brothers, Clayton, Joe and Hugh Van Hosen, all of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at the Westover Funeral home in Des Moines Saturday afternoon, conducted by Dr. Lenhart and Rev. Leslie Chapman. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
