Rites at Truro For Ona Creger

Funeral services for Ona Estella Creger were held Sunday afternoon, March 31, from the Kale Funeral Home at Truro.

Mrs. Creger died March 28 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Clarion, Iowa. She was 85 years of age.

A daughter of Harrison and Luretta Leeper Beem, she was born July 6, 1888 in Adair County, Iowa. She attended Adair County schools, and in 1918 was married to Verde Creger at Broken Bow, Nebraska.

Mrs. Creger was a school cook and housewife. She was a member of the Peru Methodist church.

Surviving are a son, Pete Creger of Des Moines; a daughter, Freda Creger of Clarion; three step-children, Ann Jeter of Iowa City, Harold Creger of Ft. Dodge and Arthur Creger of West Des Moines; a sister, Alta Rhyno of Truro; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Ivan and Virgil Beem.

Officiating at the funeral was the Rev. Richard Hempenius of Truro. Burial was in Young cemetery near Truro.

TRURO, IA. —Services for Mrs. Ona Creger, 85, of Truro, who died Thursday in a Clarion nursing home, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Survivors include a daughter; a son, Wilbur Creger of Des Moines; a sister; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services Held For Mrs. Ona Creger

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 31 for Mrs. Ona Creger, who died at the Heritage Home in Clarion Thursday, Mar. 28, at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Burial was at the Young cemetery at Truro.

Ona was born July 6, 1888 in Adair county, the daughter of Harrison and Luertta Beem. She attended school in Adair county.

In 1918 she married Verden Creger at Broken Bow, Nebr. They had two children, Wilbur and Freda, who joined three children by a previous marriage of Mr. Creger.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1950.

She is survived by her children, Wilbur, West Des Moines and Freda, Clarion, her step-children, Anne Jeter, Iowa City; Harold Creger, Fort Dodge and Arthur Creger of West Des Moines, three grandchildren, Mrs. Louis Crees, West Des Moines; Mrs. Philip Van Vleet, Indianola and Steven Creger at home in West Des Moines; two great grandchildren, Shari and Brian Crees.
