Wednesday, May 9, 1984Services for Gerald Charles Cornick, 70, Winterset, who died May 3 at Madison County Hospital, were held Monday, May 7 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Parker officiating. Burial was at the Winfield Iowa Cemetery with graveside rites there.
Born in Henry County on July 23, 1913, he was the son of Pearl C. and Emma Bolon Cornick. A retired banker, Mr. Cornick had lived here since 1957, coming from Winfield, and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, and a past member of the Winterset American Legion and Winfield Lions Club and American Legion and a past president of the Winterset Chamber of Commerce.
On May 3, 1941 he was married to Norma Strawn at Excelsior Springs, Mo.
Suvivors include his wife, his brothers, Dwight of Morning Sun, Elbert of West Burlington and Dick of West Liberty; and sisters, Lucille Ibbotson of Winfield, Mildred Wallman of Mediapolis, Twyla Herrington of Denver, Colo., Bonnie Campbell of Burlington and Connie Clark of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
