Tim Collins Death At 59

A resident of Madison County most of his life, G. Tim Collins, 59, died Thursday, October 20 at his home near Diamond Head Lake in Guthrie County. He was born June 22, 1918 in Des Moines, the son of Burness and Lena Ethel Long Collins.

The marriage of Mr. Collins to Joy Lorraine Fairholm took place February 26, 1939 in Winterset. The couple moved to Guthrie County six years ago.

Mr. Collins was a field representative for the Furst-McNess Company, a member of the American Legion and affiliated with the United Brethren Church.

Survivors include his wife Joy; two sons, Kenneth Kaye Collins and Nolan Kelly Collins of Winterset; a daughter, Carolyn Joy Wilkinson of Ackworth; and seven grandchildren.

Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Amundson of Colton, California, Mrs. Wilifred Shaffer of Waukee, Mrs. Evelyn Clark of Long Beach, California, Mrs. Frances Bush of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Bonnie Bassett of San Jose, California; and two brothers, Bernard Collins of Newton and Richard Collins of Blythdale, Missouri.

Funeral services for Tim Collins were conducted Monday, October 24, at 10:00 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Charles Updike officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
