September 16, 1998Dollie E. Calhoun, 92, of Earlham died of a heart ailment Sept. 13, 1998, at Earlham Health Care Center.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Jon Gaul officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Dollie Calhoun was born April 14, 1906 in Madison County to Franklin and Sarah (Daniels) Cooper. She married J. T. "Tom" Calhoun on June 15, 1931 in Adel. Dollie, a homemaker, had lived in Madison County for the past 10 years, having moved from Cedar Rapids. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister and six infant siblings.
She is survived by one stepson, Tom Calhoun (wife Shirley) of East Moline, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Kathleen Hastings of Texas; one nephew, Richard F. Cooper (wife Helen) of Earlham; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
