MRS. IRA A. MOORE DIES

Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Ira A. Moore of Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, Jan. 22nd at the age of 71 years. Mrs. Moore will be remembered here as the former Miss Minnie Applegate. She was only ill for three weeks.

The deceased was a daughter of Allen and Mary Jane Applegate and was born in Madison county on Oct. 13, 1869. She was married here to Ira A. Moore Sept. 4, 1894, and forty-six years ago they moved to Cedar Rapids where they had since resided.

She is survived by her husband and their three children: Mrs. Edward Miller of Alberquerque (Albuquerque), New Mexico. Mrs. Henry Rosyneck of San Antonio, Texas, and Angus Moore of Summitt, New Jersey. She also leaves three grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. George E. Nelson and Mrs. Carl Lorenzen of Cedar Rapids, and several cousins who reside in Madison county.

Mrs. Moore was active in many organizations in Cedar Rapids. She belonged to the First United Presbyterian church in Cedar Rapids, was president of the first Parent-Teacher association organized in that city, and was also a member of the W. C. T. U., Daughters of Union Veterans and the Maltese Cross and Kings Daughters.

Her funeral services were held at the Turner Chapel in Cedar Rapids Saturday, Jan. 25th, and burial was made in the Lynwood cemetery. Asa Moore of Earlham and Morris Applegate of Redfield went to Cedar Rapids to attend her services.
