Donald Ray Bivans, 69, of Winterset died from a heart ailment Dec. 14, 1999, at Winterset Care Center North.
Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 20, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill with Pastor Ron Bohal officiating.
Donald Bivans was born Jan. 4, 1930, in Des Moines to Jacob Ray and Mary (Minnick) Bivans. He married Dorothy Irene Wright on May 1, 1954 in Des Moines. A retired truck driver, Donald resided in Winterset for 35 years, having previously lived in Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, three brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jake Bivans of Bouton and Jerry Bivans (wife Lesa) of Truro; two daughters, Connie Young (husband Fred) and Deborah Lincoln (husband Keith) both of Des Moines; a brother, Jack; two sisters, Alice and Janet; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
