RONALD W. WELCH, Winterset

Ronald Wayne Welch, 58, of Winterset died Friday, March 31, 2006, near his home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Ronnie Welch was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Des Moines to Wayne Lucas and Rena Blanche (Hircock) Welch and was a 1966 graduate of Winterset High School. On Aug. 31, 1969, he married Connie Neisemier in Winterset. A lifetime resident of Winterset, Ronnie was a farmer and also worked part time for the Madison County Auction and UPS at the Des Moines Airport. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid wrestling fan and a member of the Winterset Booster Club. His other memberships included Winterset First United Methodist Church, Madison County Cattlemen’s Association, board member of the Madison County Pork Producers, and former board member of both the Madison County Conservation and Madison County Zoning.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Lucas Welch, and his parents-in-law, Fred and Trudy Neisemier.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, of Winterset; one daughter, Amy Webb and husband Kevin of Creston; one son, Travis Welch and wife Dyan of Orlando, Fla.; his mother, Blanche Welch Coffman of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; a brother, Richard Welch and wife Ruth of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a sister, Roxanne Johnston and husband Tom of Winterset; a brother-in-law, Marlin Neisemier and wife Sherry of Creston; six nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren, Tanner Lucas Webb and Madisyn Louise Welch.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
