Services for Alice Zika, 85, Winterset, who died Oct. 22, 1988, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, were held at the Collins Funeral Home on Oct. 25 with the Rev. Jerold Morris and the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Born in Grampian, Pa., on Sept. 1, 1903, she was the daughter of James and Lillie Baer Hallowell. On Oct. 6, 1919, she was married to Clarence Zika at Hume, Mo.
Mrs. Zika lived in Winterset for 20 years, coming from Des Moines, and she was a member of the Open Bible Church.
Survivors include sons, Robert and Malvin of Des Moines; James of Council Bluffs, Gene of Mitchellville and LeRoy of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughters, Charlotte Pieart, Darlene Grant and Norma Parkins, all of Des Moines; and Eva Mae Songer and Marilyn Little both of Winterset; a sister, Goldie Johnston of Mahaffey, Pa.; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons, two brother and two sisters.
