Dora R. Beeler, Winterset

Funeral services for Dora R. Beeler, 99, lifetime resident of Madison County who died April 6 at the Bethesda Care Center where she was a resident, were held Friday, Apr. 8 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Zanker officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born Nov. 6, 1883, she was the daughter of Douglas and Ellen Grenard Roy. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eastern Star. She graduated from the Normal School in Winterset and taught school at Hooten and Scott township schools.

She married Charles Beeler July 24, 1907 in Winterset. He died Mar. 13, 1950.

Survivors include sons, Charles of Winterset and Gene of Weirsdale, Fla.; daughters, Helen Berryhill of Los Angeles, Calif., Mildred Crawley of Columbia, Mo., and Kate Miller of Leesburg, Fla.; sisters, Fay Burkhart of San Juan, Tex., and Edna Grenard of Grand Forks, N.D.; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Others preceding her in death were her parents, a granddaughter and three brothers.
