Mary Barr, Winterset

Services for Mary Barr, 90, a life-long resident of Winterset, who died Oct. 1 at Des Moines General Hospital, were held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born Aug. 7, 1893, at Winterset, she was the daughter of Walter and Lucy Nichols Vance. On Oct. 7, 1922, she was married in Winterset to Glenn R. Barr. She spent most of her lifetime as a housewife and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, 60-Plus Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include daughter, Mrs. Charles (Vancine) Koehler of Hood River, Ore.; Mrs. Victor (Ilene) Lundy of Hood River, Ore.; and Mrs. Melvin (Marilyn) Wicker of Prairie City; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers and a sister.
