Funeral services for Donald K. Young, 68, will be held Thurs., Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. John Shaull officiating. Mr. Young died October 26, 1992. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.
He was born May 16, 1924, at Creston to Lloyd and Bessie (Storrs) Young. He married Dorothy D. Beard on November 10, 1940, in Camp Dodge.
He was a retired combination serviceman for Iowa Power and Light Company. He had lived in Winterset for 52 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 184 as well as the V.F.W. Post 8142. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; and a brother.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Donald L. Young of Indianola and Bruce J. Young of Winterset; a daughter Karen A. (Mollie) Vasquez of Des Moines; and four grandchildren.
