John Cornelison, who lives in Monroe township, met with an accident last Thursday night, that cost him the use of his left arm for the rest of his life. He was mounting a horse and in attempting to lift a shotgun that stood beside him, one of the barrels was discharged and the contents struck him in the left arm just below the elbow. The arm was badly mangled and about 2 inches of the bone destroyed. Dr. Wray was sent for and on Friday the amputated the arm just below the elbow.
Since writing the above we learn that Mr. Cornelison died Saturday evening from the wound and the amputation. He was an old man of about sixty years of age and one of the best citizens of the county. The news of his death will be learned with great sorrow by a host of friends. The funeral took place Monday.
