Leonard Bailey, Macksburg

Leonard Warren Bailey, 72, of Macksburg died June 10, 1997, at his home. Funeral services were 10 a.m. June 13 at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home. Mr. Ed Pheffer officiated the services and burial followed at the Moon Cemetery in Macksburg with full military rites.

He was born March 21, 1925, in Branson, Colo., to John R. and Minnie P. (Ketchel) Bailey. He attended school at the Englewood High School. On March 23, 1943, he married Shirley A. Wellman in Alameda, Calif. He was employed as a bricklayer and retired in 1984. He lived in Englewood, Colo. until 1985 when he moved to Macksburg. He was a member of the V.F.W. and served in the army during WW II from 1943-1946.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, and two sisters.

Surviving relatives include his wife; three daughters, Carol McKinney and husband Ken of Macksburg, Dianne Bailey of Macksburg, Chris Steinbach and husband Dave of Englewood, Colo.; one son, Gary Bailey and wife Linda of Englewood, Colo.; three brothers, Lloyd Bailey and wife Marvalene of Oregon, Robert Bailey of Portland, Oreg., and John Bailey and wife Rita of Bullhead City, NV.; three sisters, Wilda Vert of Salem, Ore., Kady Hayes and husband Bob of Schenectady, NY, Joanne Parker and husband Chuck of Ore.; 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
