She grew to womanhood in West Liberty and gave her heart to God and united with the Presbyterian church in West Liberty when a young girl.

She was united in marriage to Wilbert W. Atkinson, Jan. 21, 1891, and they made their home in Truro where her husband was in business.

Seven children were born to this union, Harold and Lucille Erzinger of Compton, Calif., Dorothy Dodd of Camdenton, Mo., John of Truro and Richard of Glendale, Calif. Their first little son passed away in infancy and a little daughter, Nellie Pauline, at the age of three years.

After her marriage she transferred her membership to the Methodist church in Truro. Although she has been in California a number of years, she never changed her membership. She was a faithful attendant while living at Truro and sang in the choir for many years. She was a charter member of Ivy Chapter of Order of Eastern Star No. 218.

Her husband passed away June 12, 1919. She remained in her home in Truro for five years after his death, then went to California where she made her home.

Hattie, as she was known to everyone, a kind and loving mother, has gone to her reward.

She leaves besides her five children, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Services were held Jan 2 at the Kale Funeral Home at Truro with interment at Ebenezer Cemetery. Rev. Robert Webber was in charge with music furnished by LaVerne and Eldon Schultz and Mrs. R. C. Mack.
